Overview

Previously on sale only in Europe, the new V40 is now being introduced in the United States. This front-wheel-drive wagon boasts a 1.9 L four-cylinder160-hp engine matted together with a four-speed automatic transmission, the same used in Volvo+s V70. Standard features include cruise control, an AM/FM stereo with cassette, remote keyless entry and a tilt steering wheel. Known for its safety, Volvo equips the V40 with the advanced Side Impact Protection System (SIPS). This system protects with airbags at both the chest and head level in the event of a side impact. The optional Touring Package upgrades by adding an eight-way power driver's seat, an in-dash CD player, a trip computer and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
