Overview

The all-new Cayman S enters 2006 equipped with a 3.4L flat-six engine boasting 295-hp, 255 lb-ft of torque, a 0 to 60 time of 5.1 seconds, and a top speed of 171 mph. Essentially a Boxster with a steel roof and hatchback, the Cayman is also fitted with stiffer springs, 18-inch wheels, thicker anti-roll bars, ceramic composite brakes, and an active suspension system. A short-shift six-speed manual transmission is standard on the Cayman, while a five-speed Tiptronic transmission can be selected as an option. Other options include several interior trim packages and a Sport Chrono Package, which includes a sport button, a lap-time counter, and enhanced brakes. Several different wheels size and designs are also available.
