Overview

All new for 1997, Porsche introduces the new Boxster convertible model. Standard equipment includes a mid-engine layout with a new 2.5 liter water cooled horizontal 6 cylinder engine. Additional standard equipment includes 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, 5-speed manual transmission, 4-wheel independent suspension, power retractable top and automatic climate control. Also standard is an AM/FM cassette stereo and an automatic retracting rear spoiler. Options include a Tiptronic 5-speed automatic transmission, an aluminum hardtop, a Sport-Touring Package and an Aerokit body enhancement kit. Also available is a roll bar (chrome, painted or leather finish), a 6-disc compact disc changer, and a large assortment of leather interior options.
