Overview

For 2006, the GTO is carried over from the previous year, with minor changes in color availability and optional 18-inch wheels. The standard powertrain is a performance-tuned four-speed automatic with overdrive. With standard rear-wheel drive, a Tremec close-ratio six-speed manual transmission is optional. Other standard equipment includes a dual exhaust with twin converters, Bosch three-channel traction control system, and Blaupunkt 200-watt sound system. The GTO has a true 2+2-seating configuration, with interior appointments such as machine-drilled pedals, satin nickel trim, and leather seats with side bolsters. In 2007 the vehicle is expected to get a freshening and feature exterior styling unique to the U.S Market.
