Overview

The all-new 2006 CLS-Class was designed as a sedan with the silhouette of a coupe. The CLS-Class is available in two models: CLS500 and CLS55 AMG. The CLS500 is powered by a 302 hp 5.0L V8 engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The CLS55 AMG model gets its power from a supercharged 5.5L V8 engine that generates 469 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque connected to AMG's SpeedShift five-speed automatic transmission. Optional features on both models include Distronic cruise control and Keyless Go system. The Distronic speed control uses a radar sensor to keep your car at a designated distance from the vehicle in front of you. The Keyless Go system senses the presence of the Smartkey fob and allows the driver to unlock the doors and start the car without ever using a key.
