Overview

The 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class returns with a range of new four valves, twin-cam V6 engines and the rebadging of two trims, the C280 and C350 sedans. The C-Class sedans are available in six models: C230, C280 and C350 Sport in 2WD or 4MATIC AWD configurations. The high end sports model is the C55 AMG. The new 201-hp 2.5L V6 engine is equipped on the C230, the new 3.0L 228-hp engine is featured on the C280, and the new 3.5L 268-hp engine is on the C350. The C55 AMG model continues to have a list of AMG performance enhancements, including an 362-hp 5.5L V8 engine, enhanced five-speed automatic transmission with SpeedShift, a sport-tuned suspension, enlarged ventilated and cross-drilled brakes, and polished 18-inch staggered wheels.
