Overview
Mercedes+ S-Class top luxury sedan gets even better for 2003 with a list of new improvements. The S430, S500, S55 AMG, and the S600 return for the 2003 S-Class model lineup. Continuing with their efforts on safety is the new PRE-SAFE system that prepares the car+s occupants before a possible collision occurs. New for 2003 is the optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive system for the S430 and S500 models. Also new for the S55 AMG is a supercharged engine that produces 493 horsepower and 516 lbs-ft of torque. Not to be upstaged is the S600, which receives a new turbocharged V12 engine that puts out 493 horsepower and 590 lbs-ft of torque. Also new for 2003 is the addition of the Graphite designo option.
