Overview
The 2003 Mercedes-Benz G500 returns with little change from last year, but joining the G-class family is the new G55 AMG. Standard equipment for the G500 includes an electronic five-speed automatic transmission, automatic anti-theft system, and a nine-speaker AM/FM stereo CD player with COMAND integrated GPS navigation system. Enhanced safety features include driver and front passenger air bags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic traction control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and programmable daytime running lights. The G55 AMG includes all of the standard features available on the G500 but also includes a 349-hp 5.5-liter V-8 engine, Designo Charcoal Nappa leather upholstery and an exclusive silver-accented AMG instrument cluster.
