Overview

The all new SLK 230 Kompressor roadster comes with a retractable hard top that can be lowered (or raised) with the push of one button, a process that takes only 25 seconds. The SLK comes with a passenger side airbag deactivation system that uses a radio signal (transponder technology) attached to a child seat to turn off the airbag. The available options are limited, consisting of only metallic paint, heated seats and a CD changer with a portable or mobile phone. The supercharged engine is an adaptation of the Roots blower, which was invented by Americans, Francis and Philander Roots, in 1867. The supercharged engine gives the SLK the ability of 0-60 M.P.H. in 6.6 seconds.
