Overview

For 1998, the Lexus Coupe is available in two models, the SC 300 and the upgraded SC 400. New on both models are wood and leather trim on the shift knob and center console. Also new is the electronic programmable garage door opener available with the Moonroof option. The SC 400 now comes with a five speed automatic transmission, while the SC 300 includes the four speed automatic which replaced the manual transmission. Standard equipment includes a theft deterrent system and 16 aluminum alloy wheels. The optional Lexus Portable Plus Communication System includes a new transceiver that reduces risk of telecommunication fraud and steering wheel mounted Command Module. Also optional is the premium Nakamichi sound system with a 12 CD changer.
