Overview
The all-new 2000 Insight is the first gasoline-hybrid vehicle offered by Honda. The innovative hybrid system is powered with an Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), which combines a 1.0 liter, 3-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The IMA system gives the Insight the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered engine. It delivers an EPA fuel economy of 61 mpg city and 70 mpg highway. The Insight is capable of traveling 700 miles on a single tank of gasoline. It also meets the Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standard. The innovative electronic power steering (EPS) offers a simpler, more compact design (no hydraulic pump and hoses). The Insight+s body panels and structure are made of aluminum to save weight. Air conditioning is optional equipment.
