Overview
The Neon arrives for 2001 with a host of new features. Several new packages introduce sports car appeal, as does a newly available 150-hp Magnum engine. The R/T package includes the Magnum engine, new fascias and side sill extensions, sport suspension, and a performance steering system. Other R/T features include 16-inch wheels, anti-lock brakes, and a power convenience group. Dodge also offers the ACR Competition package this year, raising the performance level even higher. This package features competition-level suspension, anti-lock brakes, performance tires, performance steering, and the Magnum engine. Safety advances include an internal emergency trunk release, a rear center shoulder belt, and optional side-impact airbags.
