Overview
The Viper is in it+s second year after being redesigned and in it+s fifth since becoming a production car. The Viper is manufactured at the new Conner Avenue assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan. There are no robots used to build the Vipers, only tools controlled by human hands. The Viper has no outside door handles and is opened only by the remote keyless entry system or from the interior. The exterior colors Black, Stone White and white wheels are no longer available for 1997. New this year is the optional polished and sparkle gold forged aluminum wheel colors. The RT/10 Roadster will have a late availability for 1997. For the race car driver there is a limited production GTS-R coupe, designed for racing, and is not street legal.
