Overview
The SL-Class arrives this year completely redesigned. It is available in two models, the SL500 and SL55 AMG. Both feature a power retractable hardtop that transforms the coupe to a convertible roadster in 16-seconds. The SL500 is equipped with a 5.0L V8 producing 302-hp and 339 lb.-ft. of torque while the SL55 AMG features a supercharged V8 boasting 469-hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Both are coupled to an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission. The SL55 AMG adds a fingertip manual mode and SpeedShift programs. All models feature Sensotronic Brake Control, Brake Assist, and Active Body Control. Optional equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps, a panorama roof, Parktronic parking assist, and Distronic adaptive cruise control.
