Overview

Dodge has rearranged the Durango line for 2002, offering new models to replace what were previously packages and decor groups. The 2WD Durango is now available in four models: Sport, SXT, SLT, and SLT Plus. All four are equipped with a 4.7L 235-hp V-8 engine, with the SLT and SLT Plus models offering an optional 5.9L 245-hp V-8. Both available engines are coupled with four-speed automatic transmissions. Additional standard equipment includes a heavy-duty suspension, aluminum wheels, keyless entry, and rear anti-lock brakes. The SLT and SLT Plus models are now equipped with a standard third-row folding seat, bringing the seating capacity to seven. Leather seat trim is optional on the SLT and standard on the SLT Plus.
