Overview
For 2002, the Boxster receives new seatbelt pretensioners, interior enhancements, and a new optional Bose digital sound system. Subtle interior enhancements include interior switches with matte finish and keys with a color Porsche Crest. The trunk now features an internal anti-entrapment release lever, and the remote entry system now controls seat memory function when the optional power seats are ordered. The Boxster S is powered with 250-hp engine with a six-speed manual transmission compared to 217 horsepower on the standard Boxster. A five-speed Tiptronic transmission is optional, and an optional vehicle navigation system incorporates controls and displays for Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) navigation.
