Overview

The Caravan introduces the new eC, a standard wheelbase, five-passenger minivan for 2002. Later in the model year the three-speed automatic transmission, standard on the SE with 2.4L four-cylinder engine, will be replaced with an electronically controlled four-speed automatic. This transmission is already included on the SE when the 3.3L V-6 is selected. Newly available this year on all models is power adjustable pedals. A new optional stereo system debuts on the Sport. This system includes rear seat audio controls, wireless headphones, and both CD and cassette players. Two new colors round out the changes: Light Almond Pearl Metallic and Onyx Green Pearl Coat. A four-wheel anti-lock braking system remains an extra-cost option on both models.
