Overview
The Galant is available in six models: DE, ES, ES-V6, LS-V6, GTZ and the new LS, which offers more premium features in a four-cylinder model. The DE, ES, and LS have a 140-hp 2.4L four-cylinder engine, while the ES-V6, LS-V6, and GTZ feature a 195-hp 3.0L V6 engine. All models use a four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Standard safety features include dual front airbags, child safety locks, and height adjustable seatbelts. This year the Galant introduces color keyed aero type bumpers, new front and rear light design, and restyled interior trim. Available options on various models are an All Weather Package with heated mirrors and traction control, a Premium Leather Package, and a power glass sunroof.
