Overview

The 2002 Mercury Sable is offered in six models: GS Sedan, GS Wagon, GS Plus Sedan, GS Plus Wagon, LS Premium Sedan, and LS Premium Wagon. The GS trims are standard with a 157-hp V-6 engine while the LS models have a 200-hp V-6 engine. Both feature a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Five or six passenger seating is offered. The Secure Package provides side impact airbags and traction control. The Wagon Package has a two-passenger rear-facing seat and cargo cover and is standard on all wagons. An AM/FM four-speaker stereo cassette is standard while a six-speaker, 80-watt MACH Audio Group with a six-disc CD changer and equalization is optional on the LS models. New exterior colors have also been added this year.
