Overview
Introduced last year, the BMW Z8 returns unchanged for 2001. This high performance roadster is driven by a 5.0L 394-hp aluminum V-8 engine coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. A limited slip rear differential is in place to help manage the 368 lb-ft of torque this engine generates. The Z8 is also equipped with an independent front and rear suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels. Stopping power is provided by ventilated 13-inch disc brakes equipped with four-wheel ABS. The interior is upholstered in full Nappa Leather and features a distinctive center dashboard mounted instrument cluster. Standard safety features include roll-over protection bars and dual front and side impact airbags.
