Overview

For the 2001 model year, Toyota has added the all-new Highlander to its line-up. The Highlander is available as a four-door model, in both 2WD and 4WD. It is powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder engine coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. A 220-hp V-6 engine is optional. The Highlander is equipped with several standard features including air conditioning, power windows and locks, 60/40 split folding rear seats, cruise control and an AM/FM cassette/CD with six-speakers. Optional items include a limited slip differential (4WD only), aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, vehicle skid control, a roof rack system, and a premium sound system. A Limited Package and Leather Package are also available.
