Overview

For 2001, Suzuki has introduced the all-new Grand Vitara XL-7 to the small SUV market. Designed to carry seven passengers, the XL-7 is available in three trim lines: Standard, Plus, and Touring (a high-end Limited trim will be introduced later in the model year). All XL-7's are available with four-wheel drive. Power is provided by a 2.7L, 170-hp V-6 engine. Depending on which trim is chosen, a manual or an automatic transmission is available. Standard safety features include dual next-generation front airbags, child safety seat anchors, and child safety locks. In addition, the Touring models are equipped with four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Available upgrades include a CD player, a power sunroof, and rear air conditioning.
