Overview

Ford has brought back the Thunderbird for 2002 as a newly designed two-seat convertible. While the new Thunderbird takes many of its exterior styling cues from the Thunderbirds of the 1950's, there is no shortage of modern conveniences and technology. Power is provided by a 3.2L 252 horsepower V-8 coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, dual second-generation airbags, four-wheel ABS disc brakes, and four-wheel independent suspension. Customers may choose either deluxe or upgraded premium trim, and a removable hardtop is also available. Interior accent packages are available in black or one of three matching exterior colors: Torch Red, Thunderbird Blue, or Inspiration Yellow.
