Overview

The Esteem returns for this year with minor changes. It is again available in two bodystyles, Sedan and Wagon, and in three trim lines, GL, GLX and GLX Plus. Exterior revisions include a restyled front grille and multi-reflector headlights. New standard equipment includes an AM/FM stereo with CD player and floor mats. The GLX upgrades by adding remote keyless entry, 15-inch aluminum wheels, a split-folding rear seat, and power windows, mirrors and door locks. New for the GLX trim is the standard passenger-side vanity mirror. The GLX Plus model boasts four-wheel anti-lock brakes, cruise control, an AM/FM stereo with cassette and CD, and a power sunroof (wagon models only). An optional automatic transmission is available on all models.
