Overview
The Galant returns for the 2001 model year with minimal changes. The Galant is available in five models: DE, ES, ES-V6, GTZ-V6, and LS-V6. New for this year is an optional All Weather Package that includes heated power side mirrors and a traction control system. Other optional packages include the ES Premium Package and ES-V6 Premium Package. The Galant ES-V6, LS, and GTZ feature a 3.0L V6 that boasts 195 hp and 205 lb-ft of torque. All Galant engines are coupled with a four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Other standard features include power door locks and windows, child safety locks, and height adjustable seatbelts. A power sunroof is optional (not available on DE and standard on LS and GTZ models).
