Overview

The Tahoe is available in two models: 2WD and 4WD. Major changes for 2001 include standard 4-wheel disc brakes with 4-wheel ABS, improved fuel economy, power and emissions. Other changes include a new tow/haul mode that optimizes the transmission shifts while hauling heavy loads or towing trailers. The On-Star System is now available on the LS trim line as part of the Convenience Package. Standard safety features include a theft deterrent system, child security rear door locks and battery rundown protection. A 4-speed automatic transmission, the Vortec V8 engine, power door locks and an AM/FM stereo with cassette are standard equipment. The Chevrolet Tahoe is the sister truck to the GMC Yukon.
