Overview
The Savana is available in six models: G1500, G1500 SLT, G2500, G2500 extended, G3500, and G3500 extended. The Savanna G1500 SLT is the luxury model of this group and includes standard feature upgrades such as cruise control and power windows and door locks. New changes for 2001 include an enhanced V8 engine that replaces the previous 7.4L, and an enhanced automatic transmission with improved acceleration and fuel economy. New exterior colors include Pewter and Medium Green Pearl. The only new interior color for 2001 is Very Dark Pewter. Safety features for the Savana are four-wheel anti-lock brakes, an energy absorbing steering column, daytime running lights, child security locks for the rear doors and a theft deterrent system.
