Overview
The Mountaineer returns for the 2001 model year with minimal changes to the interior and exterior. For added safety, all Mountaineer models are now equipped with child safety seat tether anchors. There are three Mountaineer models available: 2WD, 4WD, and AWD (full-time all-wheel drive). All Mountaineer models are equipped with air conditioning, an AM/FM cassette stereo, power liftgate, and a luggage rack. Optional equipment include a MACH audio system, electronic automatic temperature control, power moonroof, reverse sensing system, engine block heater, and leather sport bucket seats. Optional packages include a Convenience Group, Luxury Group, Monterey Feature Vehicle Package, and Premier Feature Vehicle Package.
