Overview

For the 2001 model year, the Grand Marquis returns with minimal changes to the interior and exterior. It is available in two models, the GS and LS. Revisions include a ceramic paint shade-band added on the windshield, front seat storage pouches, and a new Personal Safety System. The 4.6L V8 engine features increased horsepower and torque. It now produces 225-hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, up 25 horsepower from the previous model year. Arizona Beige Clearcoat Metallic has been added, and Harvest Gold Clearcoat Metallic has been discontinued. Concerning safety, power adjustable pedals are now optional. Other options include anti-lock brakes, electronic automatic temperature control (LS only), and a Handling Package.
