Overview

Chevrolet offers the new Z06 Hardtop Corvette for 2001. The Z06 comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and boasts a 5.7L V-8 engine that produces 385 horsepower. It also adds asymmetric tires, special Z06 dual density seats, and a reduced mass windshield and backlight. Both a coupe and convertible model are also available for this year. Active Handling Traction Control and chrome-plated exhaust tips are standard. Auto day/night mirrors are now being offered as an option. Enhancements to the Corvette include an extended oil change interval, new generation ABS brakes, and an increase in engine horsepower and torque. Two new exterior colors are being made available, Quicksilver Metallic and Speedway White.
