The Saturn S-Series enters the new model year with several equipment revisions, as well as major safety advancements. Enhanced occupant protection is achieved with the new Head Curtain air bags, which protect the side head area of both front and rear passengers. This system is optional on all models, as is anti-lock brakes with traction control. Saturn's value leader, the SL model, is now equipped with standard power steering, dual exterior mirrors, and painted front and rear fascias. The SC2 coupe features new standard equipment including power windows, power locks, cruise control, and power mirrors. Both coupe models include a driver-side third door and a CD player as unique standard items. All models feature dent-resistant polymer bodyside panels.
