Overview

The 2001 Nissan Pathfinder returns in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. Buyers can also select from three models: the XE, the SE, and the LE. The Pathfinder receives a new, more powerful DOHC 3.5L V-6 engine. Both the four-speed automatic transmission and the five-speed manual transmission receive enhancements to handle the engine's increased torque. 4WD Pathfinders offer a shift-on-the-fly transfer case that can be engaged at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. Other additions for 2001 include a restyled instrument panel, an optional six-disc CD changer, and two new exterior colors: Burnt Cherry and Bronzed Gray. Standard features on all Pathfinders include four-wheel Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) and 16-inch wheels and tires.
