Overview

The Volvo V70 returns for the 2001 model year completely redesigned. The V70 model line-up includes the base 2.4, 2.4T, T5 and XC AWD. The 2.4T and XC are equipped with an all-new five-cylinder engine that produces 197 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The T5 is also equipped with a new powertrain. It includes a 2.3L engine that boasts 247 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. The V70 features several advanced safety features including a Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), side impact air bags, and an Inflatable Curtain (IC) for added front and rear head protection. The new V70 also includes several standard luxury amenities such as an eight-way power driver seat, keyless remote entry with a theft deterrent system, and premium sound system.
