Overview
The Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring (Auto) last had a manufacturer update on 07/06/2009. Having seen a freshening of the interior and exterior in 2009, the 2010 Mazda RX-8 returns for this year with few changes, and continues in Sport, Grand Touring, and R3 trims. Introduced in 2003, the RX-8 has won a total of 48 awards for the vehicle world-wide. The R3 has been designed for the performance enthusiast. RX-8 models are available with the RENESIS (Rotary Engine genesis) engine in either a 232-horsepower version with the six-speed manual or 212 hp with the automatic. The automatic transmission features a Formula 1 inspired paddle shifter to enhance the driving experience. Instead of the more typical power steering pump, the Mazda engineers used an electronic power steering system which allows for additional low speed assist to aid in parking, as well as reduced steering assistance at higher speeds to improve drivability and road feel. The Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring (Auto) was introduced in 2004; no information is currently available on upcoming changes.
