Updates include a shorter wheelbase, greater use of lightweight body materials, new engine with more horsepower, a new 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, a synchronized downshift rev matching system for the manual transmission, and a redesigned exterior and interior. All models are powered by a new 3.7L V6 engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift). The new engine is rated at 332 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, compared with the previous 3.5-liter V6's 306 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of toque. The engine is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a new seven-speed automatic transmission. The Nismo features an enhanced 350 horsepower version of the 3.7L engine. The Nissan 370Z Touring (Auto) was last redesigned in 2009; no information is currently available on upcoming changes.
