Engine choices include a 148-horsepower 2.0L four-cylinder engine and a 156 horsepower 2.3L four-cylinder engine (both engines are P-ZEV compliant in California-emission states) A Turbocharged version of the 2.3L four-cylinder engine on the Mazdaspeed models produces 263 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual (2.0L and 2.3L), four-speed automatic (2.0L), five-speed automatic(2.3L), or a six-speed manual transmission (Mazdaspeed 2.3L).
