Overview
The MINI Cooper S last had a manufacturer update on 04/03/2009. The 2009 MINI is available in hatchback and Clubman bodystyle in base, S, and John Cooper Works and convertible bodystyle in base, S, and John Cooper Works. The base engine is the BMW-powered 118 horsepower 1.6L inline four-cylinder engine, while the S and John Cooper Works boast a 175 horsepower turbocharged version. Both engines can be matted to either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional paddle-shift automatic transmission. Standard features include keyless remote entry, remote engine start, air conditioning and power windows. Safety equipment on the Cooper includes ABS brakes, stability control, six standard airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system with run-flat equipped tires. The MINI Cooper S was introduced in 2005 and a redesign is expected in 2010.
