Overview
The Ford Expedition XLT 4WD last had a manufacturer update on 11/01/2008. For 2009 the Expedition is carried over with minor convenience and safety enhancements. The vehicle is available in both short and long wheelbase in four trims XLT, Eddie Bauer, King Ranch and Limited. Changes for this year include an SOS notification in the event of a collision, perimeter anti-theft alarm, easy 'capless' fuel filler system, rain sensing wipers, and optional heated seats for the second row passengers. The 5.4L engine is now flexible fuel compatible. Technology updates include satellite radio and SYNC next generation navigation system. For the last seven years, the Expedition as earned a five star rating in the NHTSA front crash tests. An AdvanceTrac traction control system with rollover stability control is standard across the line. The Ford Expedition XLT 4WD was last redesigned in 2007; no information is currently available on upcoming changes.
