Overview

The Volkswagen GLI (Auto) last had a manufacturer update on 03/24/2009. Marketed as a sportier version of the standard Jetta, the 2009 Volkswagen GLI is carried over from 2008 with few changes. The GLI comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L which boasts a peak horsepower of 200 at 6000 rpm and is mated with either a standard 6-speed manual or Tiptronic automatic transmission. The GLI features a blacked-out honeycomb grille with red pinstripe with auto leveling, high density Xenon headlamps. Sport bucket seats, gauges with silver rings, and aluminum finish round out the interior trim. Options on the GLI include a Ground Effects Kit, Autobahn Package, Navigation System, and 18-inch Hufeisen Alloy wheels and tires. The Volkswagen GLI (Auto) was last redesigned in 2005 and the next major change is expected in 2011.
