Overview

The GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab SLT 2WD Short Bed last had a manufacturer update on 09/08/2008. The 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 is available in several bodystyles, trims, and drivetrain configurations: Regular Cab, Extended Cab, or Crew Cab bodystyles, short or long bed lengths, four trim levels: Work Truck, SLE, SLT, and Denali (Crew Cab only) and 2WD or 4WD drivetrain configurations. Choices of engines include a 4.3L V-6, a 4.8L V8, a 5.3L V8, a 6.0L high-output V8 engine and a 403 hp 6.2L Flex Fuel V8. The 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.2L engines are now available with a six-speed automatic transmission. Updates for 2009 include OnStar 8.0 with turn-by-turn navigation and destination download, Bluetooth connectivity with the OnStar system for hands-free calling, XM Satellite Radio with new NavTraffic feature, and a new optional rearview camera system (extended cab and crew cab models). Two new exterior colors: Midnight Blue Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic.
