Overview
The GMC Canyon Extended Cab Work Truck 4WD last had a manufacturer update on 03/30/2009. The 2009 GMC Canyon is available in several bodystyles, bed styles, trims, and drivetrain configurations: Regular Cab, Extended Cab, or Crew Cab bodystyles, standard or long bed and four trim levels: Work Truck, SLE, SLT, and Value in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. Engine choices include a 2.9L 185 horsepower in-line four-cylinder engine, an optional 242 horsepower 3.7L in-line five-cylinder engine and a new optional 5.3L V8 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. All engines are mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. StabiliTrak electronic stability control system and XM Satellite radio are now standard on all models. Two new exterior colors have been added: Navy Blue and Aqua Blue Metallic. The GMC Canyon Extended Cab Work Truck 4WD was introduced in 2004 and is scheduled to be retired in 2011.
