Overview
The Ford Escape Hybrid FWD last had a manufacturer update on 01/09/2009. Ford's small crossover Escape enters 2009 again available in several trims: XLS, XLT, XLT V6, Limited, and Hybrid. All trims are available in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations. The base engine gets upgraded to a 2.5L I-4, while the 3.0L V6 engine returns, boasting 200 horsepower and 193 lb-ft of torque. The Hybrid features a "full" hybrid 2.5L I-4 engine, which can run fully on electricity up to 25 mph for fuel efficient city driving. Available features on the Escape include a voice activation SYNC system, Sirius satellite radio, full leather seating, a Navigation system, and a power glass moonroof. The Ford Escape Hybrid FWD saw minor changes in 2008, and is expected to be redesigned in 2012.
