Overview

The Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG last had a manufacturer update on 12/31/2008. Restyled for 2009, the Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster is available in four models--SL550 and 600 and AMG tuned SL63 and 65 trims. Visual changes include larger side mirrors, sportier rear section, redesigned instrument cluster and steering wheel, trapezoidal exhaust tips and integrated air diffuser in the bumper. Available on 2010 models, the new SL will feature a Direct-Steer system which requires less turn of the wheel when performing certain low-speed maneuvers like cornering. The available AIRSCARF heating system helps to extend the months of top-down driving by blowing warm air through the head restraints. The power hardtop takes the vehicle from coupe to roadster in approximately 16 seconds. The Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG saw minor changes in 2009, and is expected to be redesigned in 2012.
