Overview
The MINI Cooper S last had a manufacturer update on 12/01/2007. After being completely redesigned last year, MINI's mini-compact car returns for 2008 available in base or S, and in either hatchback or convertible bodystyles. The base engine is the BMW-powered 120-hp 1.6L I-4, while the Cooper S boasts a 175-hp turbocharged version. Both engines can be matted to either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional paddle-shift automatic transmission. Safety equipment on the Cooper includes ABS brakes, stability control, six standard airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system with run-flat equipped tires. The MINI Cooper S was introduced in 2005 and a redesign is expected in 2010.
