Overview

The Pontiac Torrent FWD last had a manufacturer update on 05/28/2008. For 2008, Pontiac's small crossover SUV is offered in a base trim, as well as the new GXP trim, both available in FWD and AWD. The Torrent base comes equipped with a 185-hp 3.4L V6 engine coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission, while the GXP boasts a 263-hp 3.6L V6 engine matted to a six-speed automatic transmission. Safety equipment on the Torrent includes a passenger sensing system, rollover sensor, StabliTrak, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a theft-deterrent alarm. GXP upgrades include a stiffer suspension, premium alloy wheels, unique interior trim enhancements, and sporty exterior revisions. The Pontiac Torrent FWD was introduced in 2006 and is scheduled to be retired in 2010.
