Overview

The Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab SXT 2WD last had a manufacturer update on 02/06/2008. The Dodge Ram 1500 enters 2008 available in three model trims: ST, SLT, and Laramie, three Cab styles: Regular Cab, Quad cab, and Mega Cab, and a choice of either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The standard engine on the ST and SLT is a 235 horsepower 4.7L V8 engine while the Laramie comes equipped with a 5.7L Hemi Magnum engine with Multi-Displacement System (MDS) that produces 335 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. The Multi-Displacement System (MDS) can transition from eight cylinders to four cylinders in .040 seconds. This can improve fuel economy by up to 20 percent. Both engines are mated to an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission. All 4WD models are equipped with an electric-shift transfer case that delivers 45 percent of the available torque to the front wheels and 55 percent to the rear wheels. The Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab SXT 2WD saw minor changes in 2006, and is expected to be redesigned in 2009.
