Overview

The Mercury Mountaineer Premier 4.0L 2WD last had a manufacturer update on 05/01/2008. The 2008 Mercury Mountaineer returns available in six trims: Base, Premier 4.0L, and Premier 4.6L, all in either 2WD or 4WD versions. The Mountaineer offers two powertrain choices, a 4.0L 210-hp V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission or a 4.6L 292-hp V8 engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include keyless remote entry, privacy glass, driver's information system, heated mirrors, and tire pressure monitor. A Moon & Elite Package offering power moon roof, AM/FM Stereo with in-dash six-disc CD changer/ MP3/ Sirius radio feature is available for all models. Three new color choices have been added for 2008: Stone Green Metallic, White Suede Clearcoat, and Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic. The Mercury Mountaineer Premier 4.0L 2WD saw minor changes in 2006, and is scheduled to be retired in 2010.
