Overview

After being redesigned last year, GMC's full-size truck enters 2008 with only minor changes. The GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab is available in three trims: Work Truck, SLE and SLT trim in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The Sierra is built on GM's newer full-size truck. Choices of engines include a 195 horsepower 4.3L V-6, a 295 horsepower 4.8L V8 , a 315 horsepower 5.3L V8 (also available in a Flex Fuel version), and a 367 horsepower 6.0L high-output V8 engine. All engine choices are mated to an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission.
