Overview

The Envoy enters 2008 available in SLE, SLT and Denali, all offered in 2WD or 4WD. The standard engine on the SLE and SLT trims is a 291-hp 4.2L inline six-cylinder engine, while the Denali trim comes equipped with a Displacement on Demand (DOD) 5.3L V8 engine generating 300 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. GM's Displacement on Demand (DOD) technology enables fuel economy gains of up to 5 percent in certain light-load driving conditions by reducing the number of cylinders engaged in the combustion process. Changes for this year include a standard XM satellite radio, standard head curtain side airbags, and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels on the Denali 2WD. Three new exterior colors are also offered: Dark Crimson, Carbon Black, and Medium Brown.
