Overview
Mercedes-Benz's off-road luxury utility, the G-Class, returns for 2007 with a redesigned interior and a larger list of standard amenities. The G500 is powered by a 292-hp 5.0L V8 engine, while the G55 AMG is equipped with a 5.5L supercharged V8 engine that boasts 469 horsepower, 516 lb-ft, and a 5.5 second 0-60 time. New features for this year include bi-xenon headlights, cornering fog lights, a satellite radio, and a heated windshield. The G500 also receives an all-new seven-speed automatic transmission, while the G55 AMG is again strapped with a five-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features on the G-Class include four-wheel electronic traction control, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), two-stage front airbags, and side curtain airbags.
